Due to water lying in the middle of the 19th green each winter we decided to strip back the turf and re level it.. Hopefully by doing this it should help the surface water drain off to the back of the green.. We used a laser to get our levels and have a fall of about 4inch's, we then re layed the turf back down. It's now just a case of hand cutting the turf, lots of water and top dressing to get the green back in play as soon as we can..

Investigation results..
After the recent Baquette Friday Greenkeeper's lunch meeting it was decided that Clive was NOT to blame for the mower rolling in to the 8th bunker he did apply the foot brake!!
At the next meeting we will be discussing if Rusty was trying to extend the 5th fairway sideways or he actually fell asleep whilst cutting!! :)

Friday 9th August - Oops.... Clive our bunker technician forgets to put brake on whilst parking on a hill.. Clive can only watch on in disbelief as our tee's mower slides down in to the 8th bunker! Note- no damage to mower or people thank god! Remember to put that brake on next time Clivos! After all that drama, the course was set up ready for the Merv Hunt trophy and the weekends play!

Tuesday 6th July
All apron stripes of the main 18 greens are being spiked, over seeded with a fescue seed mix, brushed in to the holes by hand and then dressed over the top with a sand mixed dressing, that is then brushed in again and is back ready for play.
This is done in preparation of spraying a chemical called rescue in a couple of weeks time which takes out rye grass (horrible looking clumps of thick grass creeping closer to the green) this allows the fescue grasses to come through and leave a finer sward to putt or chip off.
